Kellie Pickler’s Husband Found Dead; Apparent Suicide

A residence on Sneed Road in the police department’s West Precinct dialed 911 at 1:21 on Friday, according to Nashville’s Department of Emergency Communications. Police and members of the Nashville Fire Department responded, and they discovered Kyle Jacobs, a 49-year-old resident, dead in an upstairs bedroom/office from what seemed to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. His alleged suicide death is being looked into.

Kyle Jacobs, a songwriter and the husband of country singer Kellie Pickler, shot himself in the head on Friday afternoon in their Nashville home.

Around 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Metro Nashville Police Department spokesperson Don Aaron released a statement.

According to the statement, the Nashville Department of Emergency Communications received a 911 call from the couple’s home at 12:21 p.m. on Friday. When officers and firefighters arrived, they discovered Jacobs, 49, dead from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound in an upstairs bedroom/office.

The statement went on to say:

Kellie Pickler, the wife of Mr. Jacobs, stated that she had awoken a short while earlier, noticed she had not seen her husband, and had started seeking for him. The door to the upper bedroom/office was locked, and she and her personal assistant couldn’t get it open, so the assistant called 911.

American country music composer, singer, guitarist, and pianist Kyle Christopher Jacobs (June 26, 1973 – February 17, 2023), who had worked for Curb Music as a staff writer since 2003, passed away on February 17, 2023. Jacobs composed piano and guitar pieces. His roots are in the Minnesota city of Bloomington.

Jacobs proposed to Pickler on June 15, 2010, the day of her late grandmother’s birthday, while they were on a beach at sunset. Pickler and Jacobs tied the knot on New Year’s Day, 2011. Jacobs also helped start a youth group called UTEC (United Teenagers Experience Christ) in the Twin Cities area of Minnesota.

A suicide was the cause of Jacobs’ death on February 17, 2023 in Nashville, Tennessee. He was 49.
